When and where will the Community Shabbaton take place?
The YU Torah Mitzion Kollel Community Shabbaton will take place from Friday, October 30, through Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Lisle, 1400 Corporetum Drive Lisle, IL. The Shabbaton will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and conclude at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. The hotel is approximately a 40-minute drive from Skokie and a 50-minute drive from West Rogers Park.
Who is invited to attend?
The Community Shabbaton is open to individuals and families from across Chicago’s Jewish communities. The weekend is being thoughtfully designed to offer meaningful Torah learning, inspiring tefillah, engaging programming, music, community building, and inclusive experiences for participants of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Who will be the keynote speaker at the Community Shabbaton?
We are honored to welcome Rabbi Yaakov Glasser as the keynote speaker for the Community Shabbaton. Rabbi Glasser is a dynamic and inspiring educator known for his engaging presentations, meaningful Torah insights, and ability to connect with audiences from a wide range of backgrounds. Additional speakers and the complete programming schedule will be announced closer to the Shabbaton.
Is babysitting available?
Yes. Complimentary babysitting will be available for children ages 1–6 during designated Shabbaton programming.
Babysitting is included in the registration fee and does not require an additional payment. Babysitting will only be offered during scheduled Shabbaton programs and will not be provided in individual hotel rooms.
Parents and guardians must remain on the hotel property while their children are in the care of our babysitting staff.
Will there be programming for children and teens?
Yes. Age-appropriate youth and family programming will be offered throughout the weekend. Additional information regarding age groups, schedules, and activities will be shared closer to the Shabbaton.
Is the Shabbaton inclusive and accessible?
Yes. Inclusion is a central component of the Community Shabbaton. We are working with community partners to create a welcoming and meaningful experience for participants with a wide range of abilities and support needs.
Families or individuals requesting accommodations should provide the relevant information during registration so that our team can follow up and make every reasonable effort to support their participation.
What is included in the registration fee?
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the registration fee is offered at a highly subsidized rate. Registration includes Shabbaton meals, standard hotel accommodations, Torah learning with our Keynote Speaker Rabbi Yaakov Glasser, tefillah, musical experiences with Eitan Katz, adult programming, youth programming, designated babysitting during scheduled Shabbaton programming, and the other activities taking place throughout the weekend.
Requests for upgraded accommodations, including suites or additional rooms, will involve an additional fee. Any applicable charges will be clearly noted during the registration process.
Can I register for only part of the weekend?
The Community Shabbaton is designed as a full-weekend experience, and all Shabbat programming is exclusively available to participants registered for the entire weekend.
Is any part of the weekend open to the community at large?
Yes, the broader community will be invited to join us on Motzaei Shabbat for a Kumzitz with Eitan Katz. Stay tuned for more information!
What meals will be provided?
All Shabbat meals, Motzei Shabbat Melave Malka and Sunday breakfast are included with your registration. A complete meal schedule will be shared with registered participants before the Shabbaton.
What kashrut supervision will be provided?
All food served during the Shabbaton will be prepared and served and certified under the CRC.
Can dietary restrictions or food allergies be accommodated?
Participants will have an opportunity to note allergies and dietary restrictions during registration. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate submitted requests, although we cannot guarantee an entirely allergen-free environment.
What type of programming will be offered?
The weekend will include inspiring Torah learning, communal tefillah, musical experiences, inclusive programming, youth and family activities, and meaningful opportunities for connection. Programming will be designed to engage participants with a wide range of interests, learning styles, and levels of Jewish knowledge—from those with extensive backgrounds in Jewish learning to those with little or no prior experience.

Will there be a variety of programming options?
Yes. Throughout the Shabbaton, participants will be able to choose from a diverse menu of offerings, including Torah learning, music, community conversations, family programming, and inclusive experiences. The schedule will provide flexibility for participants to select the sessions that are most meaningful and engaging for them.
Will there be minyanim?
Yes. Tefillah will be an important part of the weekend. A complete schedule of minyanim and related religious services will be provided to registered participants. We will provide siddurim and chumashim.
What should we bring for Shabbat?
Participants should bring appropriate Shabbat clothing, personal toiletries, medications, and any supplies needed for their children or family members.
What are the hotel room arrangements?
Each standard guest room may accommodate no more than four occupants plus one infant total. Families may also add one infant sleeping in a Pack ’n Play, subject to hotel availability.
Can I request adjoining or nearby rooms?
Participants may submit room location requests during registration. We will communicate all requests to the hotel, but adjoining or nearby rooms cannot be guaranteed.
Are cribs or refrigerators available?
Requests for cribs, refrigerators, or other hotel amenities should be submitted during registration. These items are limited and subject to hotel availability and cannot be guaranteed.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
All Shabbaton registrations are nonrefundable. Because the Kollel must make advance commitments to the hotel, caterer, and program providers based on registration numbers, we are unable to offer refunds or credits for cancellations, changes in plans, late arrivals, early departures, or missed programming.
Is financial assistance available?
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, Shabbaton registration is already being offered at a significantly subsidized rate to help make the weekend accessible to as many members of the community as possible. At this time, we are unable to provide additional financial assistance beyond the subsidized registration pricing.

What security measures will be in place during the Shabbaton?
The safety and security of all participants is a top priority. In addition to the hotel’s standard security measures, private security personnel will be present each day from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. throughout the Shabbaton.
